To provide the best experience for Cachers, and act with social responsibility, Robot Cache has content guidelines which help guide us in deciding what content to publish on our site. We are taking an inclusive approach so publishers and developers around the world can find an audience, yet there is some curation necessary to keep our storefront on point. Here are a few guidelines that our curation team takes into consideration upon review of each and every game submitted before we hit the green button!
QUALITY
Robot Cache is looking for games with some level of gameplay quality and entertainment value: if you’re trying to submit a game you created in a few hours with free assets that are filled with bugs and has little to no gameplay value, it will not meet our standard.
NO HATE SPEECH, PORNOGRAPHY, OR OFFENSIVE CONTENT
Games that promote hatred, violence or discrimination against groups of people based upon ethnicity, religion, age, disability or sexual orientation will not meet our standard. Robot Cache is a no hate zone.
While adult content is allowed with the correct context, straight-up pornography is not allowed.
Our objective is to serve the best gaming content to our players and having content that is overly offensive or intended to shock or disgust violates our intent.
While parody is perfectly fine, libelous or defamatory statements are not allowed in any game submitted.
Any content that is intended for mature audiences and meets our standard, must be properly age-gated using the tools provided in our Partner Portal.
VIOLATION OF LOCAL LAWS AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY INFRINGEMENT
If you don’t own all of the content you’re attempting to submit or have inadequate rights to it, it will not meet our standard.
Pretty simply, if your game violates any law in any country, state or jurisdiction that it’s available in, it will not meet our standard. This includes exploiting children in any way.
HARMFUL, MALWARE, VIRUSES OR DATA COLLECTION
For obvious reasons, Robot Cache doesn’t want content that could or is intended to harm our users via their computers. Thus, any games that modify our customers’ computers in harmful ways will not pass the curation process.
Robot Cache puts the utmost priority on protecting the information of our users, thus no application that fraudulently attempts to gather sensitive information such as Robot Cache credentials or personal data will be approved.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
Upon submission, if your game violates any of our guidelines, you’ll receive an email and an alert on the Robot Cache Partner Portal. Our message will detail any issues that we’re concerned by, and if possible, how you may be able to remedy them. If the violation is addressable, you will need to correct the issue and resubmit your game along with an explanation.
Please note, it is possible the answer will be a “hard no” without the possibility to resubmit. We hope our partners will understand that our intent here is to ensure that our platform showcases quality titles as well as do our part to make our world a little less toxic.
Upon your game’s acceptance, it should appear on the Robot Cache store page within 5 business days, or later release date of your choosing. You’ll receive an email and an alert both when you are accepted and when the game is on the storefront.
