As part of its normal operation, the RC Client connects to our servers to retrieve and then run earning software components.
These downloads, just like any other earning software, are often flagged by anti-malware/anti-virus products as potentially-unwanted software.
Unfortunately, some earning software has frequently been a component in harmful exploits that hijack a victim’s machine, and this is why anti-malware software takes a precautionary stance when it comes to detection and quarantines.
Earning on the Robot Cache client is a 100% opt-in activity, always under your control and solely intended for the user’s benefit so that you can earn IRON and Earning bonuses. Thus our users will typically want to override any quarantining behavior taken by anti-malware, or anti-virus software.
If you see a warning message from your AV software or see an error in the RC Client, you can choose to ignore and mark as safe, and you will want to whitelist and or create exceptions for the following directories or specific files that might be identified:
...\AppData\Local\RobotCache\RobotCacheClient\
...\Program Files\RobotCache\
or the specific files from the Robot Cache client that may be identified.
Here are some links from various AV programs with instructions on how to do this with the respective program.
If your AV software is not listed above you can search your AV help documentation for guidance in how to whitelist or create these exceptions.
